Pareidolia: the tendency to perceive a specific, often meaningful image in a random or ambiguous visual pattern

Investigating pareidolia by combining different clay bodies. How do the different colors of clay create different imagery? How does food interact with that imagery? Why does one person interpret the imagery one way, while another interprets it differently? Or do they see the same thing?

All serving ware has a food, dishwasher and microwave safe matte glaze to highlight the color of the natural clay bodies.

Botanicals

These dishes capture the local botanicals and wildflowers that grow in southern Ontario, Canada on the furthest edges of the Carolinian forest system.  Imprints used are seasonal and each dish will retain a different impression. Some plates are highlighted using a variety of colors. Others in a more neutral palate. All dishes have a food, dishwasher, and microwave safe matte glaze.
